The research and education startup behind CHIKARA AI
Cognitive Futures Digital Libraries investigates, teaches and publishes. CHIKARA AI is the applied intelligence layer that turns that work into offline-first tools people can actually use. One practice. Two surfaces.
We explain, teach, investigate, challenge and give knowledge away — on intelligence, computational reasoning, emerging technologies and the societies being built around them. The publication and the programmes sit above the conventional article-stream model. They are designed as an institution of public intelligence, not a feed.
Translate research into practice. Complex work on intelligence rendered into something a builder, teacher or policymaker can act on.
Treat emerging technologies and emerging societies as subjects of serious inquiry — not press releases to be amplified.
Knowledge as public utility. What can be taught, we teach. What can be given, we give.
Writer, researcher, systems builder. Founder of Cognitive Futures Digital Libraries and CHIKARA AI.
His work spans narrative engineering (Soliloquy), cultural reasoning frameworks, the Immaculate Reasoning Atom (IRA), and the full CHIKARA product family. Poetry has appeared in the MUD Journal. Social entrepreneurship through Avilian Meals, community nutrition initiatives and the Baby Heroes project has been featured in the Herald Online Zimbabwe.
Current work includes a NeurIPS 2026 submission in preparation, the KHAMI AI system, active programmes in Zimbabwe and Botswana, Namibia market entry planning, and ethnographic fieldwork across five countries.

In Grade 1 in the rural home where I was raised, we had no adequate classrooms and would learn under an acacia tree. We had neither textbooks nor books to write in, and I remember doing exercises by writing with my fingers in the dust — that is where we did our working: 1+1=2 and so on. I went into a classroom once, and that was to write exams. I was number one then, top of the class, in the year 2000 — twenty-six years ago.
I had to walk ten kilometres every day to get access to the opportunity to learn under a tree in my rural home. I had no advantage, only obstacles. And mountains, after mountains. You see, to dream in a godforsaken part of the world is to invoke fate.
I would make wire cars, which gave me peace and an escape. You had to figure out how to make it turn — which was a hell of an engineering question. Elastic came into the equation. After playing, and when it was dusk, I would carry the truck and throw it on top of the roof to hide it from being stolen. That was my first engineering problem. That was my first product.
My aunt gave me a PlayStation 1 in 2004. What I learned through gaming: love, communion, friendship, and English. A child will not fail to learn if he is free, if he enjoys the way by which he appropriates knowledge. If he is loved, then that is a great advantage.
The question is not why I succeeded despite the obstacles. The question is: why should any child face those obstacles? The technology now exists to bring every child — under the acacia tree or in the urban tower, in the village ten kilometres from the nearest school or in the academy with every resource — into contact with the full inheritance of human knowledge, calibrated to her pace, responsive to her questions, patient with her struggles.
This is why the framework matters. This is why the IRA matters. Because somewhere, right now, there is a child sitting where I sat, and she deserves better than what I had. Not because I suffered and therefore she should not, but because suffering was never necessary. We simply had not yet built the alternative.
Now we can. Now we must.
Cognitive Futures is the institutional and research home. CHIKARA AI is the product family that carries the same principles into daily use: offline-first, data-local, safety-before-intelligence, transparent licensing, and honest confidence labelling (IRA).
When you use Ledger, Storefront, Maternity Guide, Health Companion, Precision Agriculture, Forge, Harmony, Canvas or any other CHIKARA surface, you are using infrastructure designed by the same practice that runs school programmes and publishes research.
